Mary Jane Jones was born in Clinton county, Ohio, June 4, 1823. Departed this life, Nov. 15, 1892, aged 69 years, 5 months and 11 days. She came to Wells county, Ind., in the year 1837. Was united in marriage to Robert Alexander, Jan. 8, 1846. Nine children blessed their union, five boys and four girls, three of whom--two boys and one girl--sleep in the city of the dead. Sister Alexander, in early youth, consecrated her life to God. At the age of nineteen years she joined the M.E. church, where she remained a consistent member until 1846, when she united with the Methodist Protestant church, still continuing a faithful member and an earnest christian until Death marked her his own, and the God whom she loved to adore, said, "Enter thou into the joys of thy Lord." Her sickness though long and severe, was borne with patience. She was willing at all times to say, "Thy will, oh, God, not mine, be done." But she is gone, we will see her no more. She has left this world for the other shore. We will miss the work of her dear hands; we will miss her in the family band; we will see the paths she has trod, but 'tis joy to think she rests with God. She leaves a husband, three sons and three daughters to mourn her departure. Funeral services at Union chapel, conducted by Rev. J.R. French. Interment in the Batson cemetery.
Rebecca Jones Cloud obituary, Bluffton, Indiana, Bluffton Banner, Wednesday, January 10, 1900:
Death of Mrs. Cloud - On Monday occurred the death of Mrs. Rebekah Cloud, wife of Carson Cloud of Jackson township. She was an old settler of that neighborhood and had always been a highly respected citizen. She had been sick but little over a week, the cause of her death being pneumonia. Her age was 70 years and 11 days. The funeral was held on Tuesday, interment taking place at the Batson cemetery.
Isaac Jones obituary, Bluffton, Indiana, Evening Banner, Saturday, July 07, 1917:
Isaac Jones Of Jackson Is Dead. Funeral Will Be Held At The Home Of Charles Stinson Sunday. Isaac Jones, one of the pioneer residents of Jackson township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Stinson, Thursday morning from paralysis, with which he was attacked on Sunday. Mr. Jones was 84 years of age and is survived by ten children, of who, Mrs. Ira Brown, of Warren is one. His widow also survives but has been in very poor health for the past three months. Funeral services will be held from the home of Charles Stinson on Sunday afternoon.
