Road Trip 2009
Tom and his wife loaded up the RV and hit the road in September of 2009. With the narrow roads and steep driveway to their home (photo on right), it was a bit of a challenge getting ready for the trip. After a long day of driving, they started with a visit to Redwood National and State Parks in northern California. Here, they took several hikes through the giant redwood trees, saw elk grazing in a meadow, and enjoyed the plentiful ripe wild blackberries. Next, they drove up the scenic Oregon coast, stopping to visit two historic lighthouses. Driving inland along the Umpqua River, they stopped for hikes to several waterfalls on the way to the beautiful Crater Lake National Park. Last but not least, they stopped to visit Lassen Volcanic National Park before returning home.
