Tom in office
Tom was born in Indiana and has pleasant memories of the rural farming lifestyle during his early childhood.  After completing high school, he went off to college at Arizona State University where he received a bachelor of science degree in mathematics.  He then started a career in software development.  He started out working for Control Data Corporation for three years, and then joined McDonnell Douglas Automation Company.  While working full time, he went back to school and completed a master of science degree in computer science at California State University, Fullerton.
After spending over three years working for McDonnell Douglas, Tom took a chance and joined a small startup company named Emulex.  Emulex was very successful and later spun off a new company named QLogic, which was also very successful.  Tom worked for Emulex and QLogic for a combined total of 25 years before deciding to retire from the work force at the age of 55.
While attending Arizona State University, Tom met his sweetheart, whom he later married.  Tom and Iris have been happily married for over 40 years and have three daughters, three son-in-laws, three beautiful granddaughters and four awesome grandsons.
After retiring, Tom went back to school, taking classes at local junior colleges, to learn how to design and develope web sites.  He now keeps busy playing with his own website and maintaining a website for the local Friends of the Library.  He also keeps busy with the local Kiwanis Club, visiting family, doing genealogy research, hiking, playing disc golf, and planning the next big trip for him and his wife.
