Bracken County, Kentucky - Will Book "C", page 185:

In the name of God, I, WILLIAM ELLIOTT, Senior, of the County of Bracken and State of Kentucky, being of sound mind, but feeling my bodily strength failing me, do make this my last Will and Testament, appointing my son William Elliott, Junior to carry into effect my wishes as hereafter expressed in this instrument.

First - I wish my said Executor to pay my just debts and funeral expenses. And after the payments of the debts etc, it is my wish that my wife Elizabeth Elliott shall retain the balance of my estate until her death, then balance of my estate, if any, to descend to my son, William Elliott, Jr. forever.

Second - It is my wish that my said Executor shall have power to convey or make deeds in my name, with as much force as though done in my life time.

I have made advances to my children Elijah Elliott, Reuben Elliott, Sally McClanahan, Elizabeth Bartlett, Nancy Field, and Isaac Elliott and their families to an amount of what I design giving them. Therefore this is to guard against all or any future division whatever. I am therefore compelled to make no further appropriations for their benefit.

In testimony whereof I annex my hand and seal this 9th day of February 1828.

(signed) William Elliott {seal}
