- Harrison County, Kentucky marriage record shows James Marshall married to Susannah Baker.
- Marshall Family Bible states that James Marshall and Susannah Baker were married the 25th of November 1805 and that Benjamin F. M. was born the 27 of June 1820.
Records from Two Marshall Family Bibles, 1752–1932, transcribed by Lloyd Hosman:
James Marshall (1781–1866) came to Rush County, Indiana, from Harrison County, Kentucky, in 1831. Two bibles from the Marshall family are now in the possession of Lloyd and Charlotte Hosman of Knightstown, Indiana. Charlotte Hosman is the third great-granddaughter of James Marshall. Most of the Marshall family members listed in these bibles lived in Rush or Shelby County, Indiana. The bibles are complete with the exception of missing front covers and title pages. The inner pages that contain the family records have been transcribed. One bible was published in 1818 and the other in 1824, and the transcriptions below are kept separate accordingly. Editorial additions are included in brackets.
